How else would a programmer start their website?
My name is Jace Petkau. I’m the oldest child in a family of nine siblings. I was born in Edmonton, Alberta, but when I was thirteen my family moved across the country to Hamilton, Ontario.
I grew up attending church. I don’t remember ever questioning that Christianity was true. I originally had no reason to doubt it, and as I’ve grown older I’ve seen things play out in my life that have completely and totally convinced me that God exists. Not just that God exists, but that He is Jesus Christ, who loves me and has saved me from my sin.
When I was eighteen I went to Texas for nearly a year to attend GFA World’s Discipleship Program. I came back to Canada the next year and completed the second year in GFA’s Canadian office. Those two years were the most formative of my life.
After graduating I joined staff with GFA World in Canada where I now serve. My role is primarily website development.
GFA World is a Christian non-profit organization. It has existed internationally since 1979. GFA has offices in Canada, the United States, South Africa, Germany, and Australia, just to name a few. Through partnering with established churches in what we would consider first-world or western nations GFA raises funds and support to send to other parts of the world that haven’t heard of the love of God yet.
The 10/40 window denotes the part of the world between the tenth- and fortieth-degrees north latitude and stretching from western Africa to the Pacific Ocean. GFA has had a focus on this part of the world for years, especially on the Indian sub-continent.
